Paris, 1742. A coffin floats in the shimmering Seine. On the lid, a word written in blood… Psalms. Inside, the body of a beautiful woman. Lia de Beaumont. Now her brother, D’Eon, seeks the reason for her mysterious murder, and uncovers an evil that casts shadows in both the palaces of kings and the dark alleys of Europe. A power wielded by spell-casting Poets and manipulated by royalty. A force so powerful it brings Lia’s soul back from beyond to seize the only weapon she can possess to avenge her death… her own brother. (forgalmazó hivatalos szövege)

angol A mini probe into the history of pre-revolutionary France, during the reign of Louis XV, with the supernatural depicted in the form of reciting psalms. It was often boring, but had strong moments (about 3). The musical component is in the same ballpark. The characters, well, what can I say, I enjoyed them here and there, but there wasn't a single one that I loved, the only real likable character for me was the "original" Maximilian Robespierre (not the loon who had his way during the Revolution, and who the sans-culottes famously executed afterward on that awesome invention, the guillotine, cheerfully waving his Phrygian cap as he did so; I hope I spelled everything correctly X-D). It may have a good idea, but it's handled in an overly wordy and uninteresting way, eventually worse than a history textbook (which I haven't opened in a few years). I had to really force myself to watch it, and moreover, with each episode I thought that it was taking too long somehow, that surely it couldn't be only 25 minutes, but twice as long. Such a pity. ()
