Tartalmak(1)

Scott Pilgrimre, a 22 éves, jóképű basszusgitárosra ragadnak a csajok.

angol An incredibly original visual action ride, packed from beginning to end with directorial tweaks, graphics, and situational and verbal humour; every sentence is a joke. Scott Pilgrim is thoroughbred fun that demands a lot of attention from the viewer if they want to get all the jokes. If you ignore the superficial shiny tinsel, what’s left is a straight line that recycles old clichés with unprecedented vigour, relies on the repetition of one motive and takes place in an internally inconsistent and utterly insane world, but nobody cares. That would be very bad, but the protagonist is an ordinary geek who’s probably never come up with anything original (pick-up line), he only cares about one thing (video games) and his world and life cannot be considered deep or complex. The only question left is whether this film can be considered as a portrayal of the world through the eyes of Scott Pilgrim, or whether I’m just looking for things that aren’t there. Either way, it was a lot of fun. 9/10 ()

angol If someone has watched, read, listened, and recorded plenty of things, and they can also film in such a way that it is perfectly entertaining, then we’ve got nothing to worry about. During the screening, I wanted to chant and cheer loudly, and after it was over, I wanted to go back to the box office and do it all over again. This sort of "style geyser" cannot be absorbed the first time around. This is the second film this year where inventive British filmmaking has made an incredible splash for Hollywood money. ()

angol This genre is definitely not in my blood. But I appreciate the imaginative and original nature of it. It was a little too crazy, unhinged, and gross for me. The whole plot is actually built on nonsense... otherwise quite nice. ()

angol After 5 minutes, I knew that this film would not be my cup of tea, and after 10 minutes, I realized that I was genuinely suffering. Nevertheless, as a typical weakling, I endured for another half hour, only to finally understand that every additional minute was an unequivocal waste of time and that there are plenty of more interesting activities in the world, starting with sex and ending with delicious food, to which I could give preference. Actually, anything deserves preference in this case. I could elaborate on the comic book aesthetics but it is influenced by a series of films that really appealed to me. I could go on about how this is a film aimed at the young generation, but so was Misfits, and I had a great time with that series. The best adjective to describe Scott Pilgrim is adolescent. Adolescently directed and tailored for teenagers. Furthermore, it is based on a stereotype and subsequently becomes boring. It had nothing to offer me, but undeniable professionalism compels me to give it one star. Overall impression: 25%. ()

angol So many corpses and not a drop of blood... I hate Michael Cera, his dumb mug and moronic one-liners bother me, so I had a major problem with Scott Pilgrim. On the other hand, there's Edgar Wright, a playful visual magician who turned this unbelievable nonsense into a special effects orgy full of memories of youthful gaming days. And the action scenes are top notch. ()

angol Unfortunately, it just made me more and more bored... I once tried to read “Scott Pilgrim," but the book seemed pretty useless to me and intended for people about a hundred years younger than me, and I must say that the adaptation is very much faithful in this regard. There are plenty of ideas here, though, because Edgar Wright is a toyer, but the plot didn't interest me at all from about halfway and I felt like the avalanches of all sorts of cool things primarily numbed and suffocated me. angol A story built completely on its head, cool fight scenes, even better editing and Edgar Wright, aka "the guy who made Shawn of the Dead and Hot Fuzz"? Why the hell not? I had a lot of fun and I guess the fact that I've never read the comics and don’t get very excited for computer games, which are paid homage to in a big way, had a lot to do with my experience. Scott Pilgrim is truly a visual treat with an extremely original story coupled with some excellent ideas (the deveganization) that managed to get me properly excited as a viewer, but at the same time with a lot of places and twists that somehow I just couldn't adjust to and their wackiness and pointlessness bothered me. Yet the film does not contradict itself at all, on the contrary, it is clear from the first scenes what direction it will take, but you know, I must have taken a wrong turn somewhere along the way and didn’t find Wright again until the end. I was expecting a lot more, with Pegg and Frost things work clearly better for Wright. 60% ()

angol I had even more fun this time than the first time I saw it. I loved the brilliant editing, the dialogue was great, and the creators reminded me of a time when I used to throw coins into video game machines just to be able to play. This film simply made me feel good. ()

angol A film that I didn't expect anything from and watched it more by chance. I had a great time watching it and I was surprised by what can be created. And then I also came across a comic book that surprised me even more. The film is not a faithful adaptation, but it captures enough of the fundamental elements that make the comic book so unique. A film that I truly enjoyed from beginning to end and I look forward to watching it again someday. ()

angol I loved the concept from the start. Combined with Wright's semi-crazy (but really delightful) directorial trademark, a likable and witty script, actors tailor-made (in my opinion) for the target audience, its overall detachment, and its abundance of pop culture references, Scott Pilgrim works perfectly. I really like films made with energy and inventiveness and, if they doesn't overstay their welcome and maintain some reasonable level of taste, they usually "gets away" with a full rating – because the entire running time in such a case passes incredibly quickly, entertains royally, and leaves me wanting to watch it again sooner or later. In short, it's a purely professional work and it's obvious that the creators have the area they set off on very well mastered and studied. That it doesn't feel forced for a moment as a result is just another plus and I really can't help but give it 5 stars. ()

angol The most original movie in a long time. Incredibly zany but hilarious, full of energy and good vibes. The almost two hours of it raced by like twenty minutes, simply awesome. ()
