A Pentagon egy törtető tisztviselője, Scott Huffman kellemetlen feladatot kap feletteseitől: egy több, mint 30 éve halott háborús hőst terjesztenek fel bajtársai a Becsületrendre, aminek következtében a férfinak meg kell látogatnia az idősödő veteránokat, hogy az ő történeteik által feltárja a szóban forgó katona egykori érdemeit. Az elsőre hálátlannak tűnő munka azonban csakhamar Huffman szívügyévé válik, ahogy a férfi újabb és újabb megható részleteket tud meg Pitsenbarger őrvezető csodás tetteiről. Amikor pedig az ügy magasabb politikai befolyással bíró személyek érdekeivel is ütközni látszik, Huffmannak döntenie kell, hogy a becsülete, vagy pedig a karrierje fontosabb számára. (Moziverzum)

The biggest problem I see is the casting of Sebastian Stan, who has zero ability to evoke emotion in the viewer. The other acting veterans here come across as mere staffage and I'd really like to know what convinced them to go for this, at the very least, extremely odd project. All the flashbacks are perfectly interchangeable with any self-respecting war film and the final scene (I was just waiting for the cleaning lady, receptionist, and gardener to stand up, too) should be outlawed. But for some reason inexplicable to me, it flew by rather quickly, so in the end a hard-fought 2 stars.

The Last Full Measure has an extremely strong story and an important idea, but it doesn't seem to really sell either. The plot drags on, lacks dramatic arcs, and the final typically American cheerleader along with a lot of exaggerated patriotism, sentiment, and pathos definitely does not help the final impression. The attempt to portray human emotions and to evoke an emotional movement in the viewer was a bit of a miss. At least for me. However, I have to admit that looking at all the great actors made me realize how time is actually passing outrageously fast for the time that has been allotted to us here . That moved me much more than the film itself. (50%)
