(HBO Europe)

A legfőbb titok (2012) (S07E01)

angol This episode marked a shift for me — I found myself more engrossed in the dialogue than in Dexter's secret hobby (well, secret...). Watching Debra piece everything together slowly was a highlight, and dealing with yet another killer almost felt distracting this time. ()

Napfény és fagylalt (2012) (S07E02)

angol The second episode kept the momentum going, and I'm still onboard. There was plenty going on, but everything felt like it belonged, adding depth to the main storyline. I was particularly drawn to the interaction between Dexter and Deb, and Deb's internal conflict was portrayed excellently. ()

A szabadság ára (2012) (S07E03)

angol The seventh season continues to deliver the goods, and I'm loving it. I was particularly hooked on the storyline with Louise and the hunt for Ray Speltzer. The dynamic between Debra and Dexter was there too, but this time more on the side of the main events. ()

Útvesztő (2012) (S07E04)

angol I'm breaking my streak of five-star ratings for the seventh season. It just didn't hit me as hard as the others. The resolution of Ray Speltzer's case left me a bit underwhelmed. After all that buildup, I was hoping for something more elaborate. ()

A dagály ereje (2012) (S07E05)

angol Even though this episode didn't serve up a lot of action beyond that bar shootout, it still managed to keep me hooked. The plot thickened nicely with some cleverly woven subplots, and let's take a moment to appreciate Yvonne Strahovski as Hannah McKay. This is her third appearance, and she's really nice to look at. ()

Sisakvirág (2012) (S07E06)

angol The sixth episode didn't exactly have us on the edge of our seats with action, but surprisingly, the dialogue kept me hooked. It felt purposeful and kept the pace rolling. I was all in... until that ending. Dexter's usually a one-stab-and-done kind of guy, but this time? Multiple stabbings and everyone's still kicking. Plus, did Dexter catch feelings? Quite the curveball for a sociopath. ()

Tinta és vér (2012) (S07E07)

angol So, here's the paradox I'm grappling with. On the one hand, I'm digging the character of Hannah McKay (and let's be real, Yvonne Strahovski's a big part of that). But on the flip side, her thing with Dexter? Not feeling it. See, Dexter used to be emotionally numb and as cynical as they come. Now, though, he's morphing into someone else entirely, and I'm not sure I'm on board with that. ()

Egy talpalattnyi Argentína (2012) (S07E08)

angol Dexter's cynical wit seems to have vanished, replaced by a flood of romantic scenes that aren't really my cup of tea. But if there's someone worth praising, it's Titus Pullo; I totally bought into his portrayal of Isaak. ()

Harakiri (2012) (S07E09)

angol This episode was a definite improvement over the last couple. With all that blood spilled and bodies dropping left and right, you'd think I'd be concerned about myself for enjoying it, but honestly, I couldn't care less. What mattered most to me was that the episode had a great pace, killer atmosphere, and kept the story moving forward smoothly. ()

Báb a dróton (2012) (S07E10)

angol Dexter's sudden dive into romantic feelings is throwing me off. I mean, my favorite character used to be this cold-blooded killer who couldn't understand human connections, and now he's all mushy. It's like he's become a whole new person. ()

A méregkeverő (2012) (S07E11)

angol Once again, I found myself in a familiar scenario with this episode. The plot remained intriguing, with a great atmosphere, plenty of tension, and action-packed sequences. Despite all that, I couldn't quite bring myself to give it four stars. Just like in the previous episode, it was the emotional development of the main character that held me back. ()

Kígyó a jégen (2012) (S07E12)

angol The season finale was expertly crafted by the creators, packed with surprises and twists that left me eager for the next season. It served as a perfect setup for what's to come in the eighth season. ()

Season 8 (2013) (S08)

angol The final season was the worst that the creators offered in those eight years. For the first time, I was bored, which is something I wasn't used to with Dexter. The character of Dr. Evelyn Vogel was inserted into the story so awkwardly that the writers should be concerned about meeting their “number one fan,” and I might even root for Annie this time. Another thing that made me angry was the totally cop-out ending, in which all evil was punished like in a proper Disney fairy tale. ()

A suttogó (2013) (S08E01)

angol Warning, the following comment contains vulgarities!! How can a series, which has decent potential even in its eighth season, and a screenwriter who still enjoys his work, be ruined? By the shit-covered hypocrites from the studio management deciding to apply the amazing censorship Made in USA. I could try to find understanding if the series fell into Disney's brainwashers, but like this... Because that censoring asshole was American, we can't see what people normally have under their clothes, and Debřina's spoken speech becomes a torso, making her character seem like a severe retard, yet food carving applied to the human brain is perfectly fine. I was fucking pissed off and had to compensate for what the censor idiotically retouched here. The episode itself wasn't bad at all, and I would rate it four pieces, but two stars fell because of the dumb censor and the idiots who paid him. ()

Üröm az örömben (2013) (S08E02)

angol The episode left me feeling conflicted. On the one hand, I was thrilled to see less censorship, but on the other hand, it was a bit uninteresting, aside from a few standout moments. ()

Izom-zsír arány (2013) (S08E03)

angol I hate to say it, but the eighth season hasn't won me over yet. The first episode had potential, but it felt like censorship watered it down. Then the next couple of episodes seemed like more of the same, and I'm getting a bit tired of diving into Debora's psyche over and over again. ()

Kellék (2013) (S08E04)

angol No matter how hard I try, the eighth season isn't grabbing me. Dr. Evelyn Vogel who seems to have come out of nowhere is grating on me, and the whole search for the killer with a cutting tool isn't exactly knocking my socks off. Plus, that ending really threw me for a loop. ()

Halovány másolat (2013) (S08E05)

angol Looks like the creators were gunning for tension, but whatever mojo they had in the past just didn't fire this time. Maybe it's because I couldn't care less about what happens to Dr. Vogel, so why should I stress, right? ()

A sárga szalag túloldalán (2013) (S08E06)

angol Nah, it's just not clicking anymore, and I'm giving this episode three stars purely out of nostalgia. Dexter was acting like he needed a crash course in common sense, and the whole episode felt like it was penned by someone who's just out to wreck a good thing, much like what happened with The Walking Dead. ()

Egy csapásra két legyet (2013) (S08E07)

angol I'm pleasantly surprised to hand out a fourth star after what feels like ages. This episode's plot wasn't dragging like the ones before it; there was less focus on psychological sessions, and at times, it felt like the screenwriter remembered what made the earlier seasons so great. ()
