A Stone család mindig alaposan megválogatta a tagjait. A rajongott fiú, Everett (Dermot Mulroney) idén az új barátnőjét, Meredith-t (Sarah Jessica Parker) is magával hozza a karácsonyi ünnepségre. A baj az, hogy a család korántsem ilyen jövendőbelit képzelt el számára, és a véleményüket nem is rejtik véka alá. Meredith felveszi a kesztyűt, és elhívja a húgát, Julie-t (Claire Danes), aki alaposan befűt a Stone famíliának. (TV2)

A comedy? Nope. It's a Christmas romantic drama. And it’s not bad at all. Fortunately, I was prepared for it, I didn't get fooled by the distributor's "You'll laugh out loud!" slogans on the DVD cover, and to tell the truth, I enjoyed the pleasant performances, the screenplay, which pleasantly confused me (although everything turned out as I expected, although at times I wasn't quite sure what the ending of the film was going to be), Giacchino's music... And I got quite a warm feeling during the end credits. But I didn't even need the one really comedic interlude, underlined by Tchaikovsky, which came before the end. The foundation of the family reminded me a lot of Dan in Real Life. Three and a half.
