Pritam and Radha, a couple from New Delhi, try to rebuild their marriage by spending their vacation in the forest. There they run into Abhishek, Radha’s old lover, who now works for the police. As old passions come to light, crouching in the shadows is an infinitely greater threat. (Sitges Film Festival)

angol The Forest is an ordinary Indian co-production B-movie. It’s a spoof starring a hungry cheetah, strung on a plot about a dysfunctional married couple. The point of all this is to highlight in the end credits the practices of poachers, which are alarming. Nothing more, nothing less. I certainly wouldn't jump to conclusions about the whole of Indian production, because the entire Indian subcontinent makes nearly 1,500 films a year and this is a completely irrelevant grain of sand. If you want to see a real blockbuster with Nandana Sen, give Bhansali’s Black a shot. ()
