It must be said that Watcher in the Attic goes at a very slow pace and does not offer nearly as much fun as it may seem at first glance. Nevertheless, it is a movie that delves into the themes of the secret desires of the human soul and eloquently outlines what society looked like in Japan in the 1920s. The Watcher in the Attic is a film that for a while immerses you in the secrets of lust and activities that usually happen behind closed doors and you don't want anyone to know about. You become a voyeur yourself, but the connection between the viewer and the characters is not that strong, which is probably the main stumbling block here. Yet for a while, you can become voyeurs yourself in this psychologically interesting game.
