Maria, 8 years old, is often irritated with her younger brother. Her friend Makka claims to have a magic crystal ball and Maria makes the mistake of wishing her brother would disappear. When Maria gets sick and her parents find a new babysitter, the mysterious Gerda, things get strange. Maria and Makka understands that Gerda must be a witch sent to make her wish come true.
