angol The Uniform is a film that deceives. There are many reasons why I got into Bollywood and equally many reasons why I continue to watch its films. However, this really is not a conventional film from the corruption and crime genre. In a way, it's interesting to regularly confirm that the same films, virtually indistinguishable from each other, are being made all over the world in roughly the same years. It's not surprising, just somewhat poignant, that despite all the cultural and other differences, the film world is just one little speck, and that will probably always be the case. I’m not entirely satisfied with this film. Why watch the Indian mirror of the sterile Hollywood product when they can do so much more and often better in all those *ollywood films? It’s probably in order to prove now and then that they can control both sides of the equation. So why waste time? For Amitabh as a deserving man of the law, close to retirement age, who has a lot of strength left and will go through true purgatory before he knows the real truth. For Akshay, who starts out as a typical lawman using his uniform only for his own pleasure - dallying with married ladies and harassing their husbands. For Ajay and his magnificent villain... and last but not least, Aishwarya, the woman who has the most gorgeous blue eyes, who personified a very realistic ordinary girl, and who has a very interesting plot twist at the end. Genre-wise, Santoshi also manages to inject a bit of horror into the atmosphere, which doesn't hurt. So it is up to you whether the fight against corruption in the Indian subcontinent or anywhere else in the world appeals to you. You can be sure of the result every time. ()
