A picture of British society in the 1980s? To a certain extent, definitely. An example of how we're bored with our lives and we want to change something, but we're not strong enough to actually make that change. Or, on the contrary, we wander and have no clear goal because we don't really know what to do with our lives. No, this is not just a picture of British society in the 1980s, it can be applied to the present day.
