Martin Sheen demonstrates how perfectly suited he is for rebel roles, but with the added dimension that his character isn't just flat, it's not the expected caricature, but a hero one can truly love, in a story that itself isn't traditional and has an interesting plot. I didn't even expect that it could be made into a film that will keep you entertained until the end.
