A nászutat követően Shreket és Fionát meghívás várja a lány szüleitől Túl az Óperencián birodalmába. Felkerekednek hát a levakarhatatlan Szamárral, hogy kilépjenek az ünneplő tömeg elé, csakhogy Túl az Óperencián még senki nem tudja, hogy a királylány a varázslat megtörtével kissé másképp változott meg. Harold, a király bizony másképpen képzelte lánya jövőjét - és a sajátját is. Bár már nem "először", de a Shrek 2. című film még mindig tele van szuper ötletekkel, és főleg a második színültig tele fele teljesen lefegyverzi az embert. Az első film ugyanolyan frissítése, mint a Toy Story - Játékháború 2. című film - még több ugyanabból, de vadabb és gazdagabb csomagolásban.

Shrek 2 has its deaf spots (and there are quite a few), but they are balanced by great animation, some excellent references (a cool "Mission - Pinocchio - Impossible") and in places a very biting parody of Hollywood and movie star mores. The whole thing has a nice, relaxed and self-parodic atmosphere, which is good. And what I must not forget is the great voice acting of the characters in the original - especially Banderas made me laugh! In this regard, I would like to send a small message to our distributors: Go to hell with the dubbing!

Who would have guessed the type of film cult that would hatch from that green, insanely clumsy and eternally bloated ogre? But that's the way it is, and I just have to confirm that Shrek 2 does not embarrass its predecessor, and it has even more one-liners (my favorite: I hate Mondays...), again densely packed with excellent musical numbers and catchy songs "in the background" of scenes, original characters from the realm of fairy tales (and the winner is... Puss in Boots played by the phenomenal Banderas... this guy is sexy, this guy is amazing!), and of course the most jovial and unclassifiable genre mix of comedy, parody, action, love story... My joy is perhaps a bit spoiled by the knowledge that it is a variation on the theme of the first film (the emotionally captivating finale is not all that captivating after all), but when I tell you that you are guaranteed to enjoy this movie despite this fact, I'm not lying to you. The repeated point may gnaw at the soul, but as soon as Donkey and Puss release the Latin-American rhythms, all the negatives are forgotten. Shrek amounts to a good mood in green, kindness, insight and an excellent film that can pleasantly tickle the soul. There may be hints of commercial calculations here and there, but I get zero impression that it is a fake. And the liveliness of the animated characters is... really startling. How the hell do they do that? !!! Watch the version subtitles, otherwise you will miss out on a large piece of Shrek's magic !!!

Shrek 2 is a classic sequel, everything that worked last time is here to a greater extent. That bothers me a lot with other films, but with Shrek, paradoxically, I appreciate it. Probably because of the Cat's eyes or the strain on my diaphragm after every screening.

Force-adjusted porridge. A strange and possibly slightly unacceptable story for children, compensated by more or less good jokes and references. Shrek with Donkey and Puss in Boots belongs to the great part, but the rest is sometimes unbearably boring, especially the subplot with the kiss, which noticeably copies the first installment. Therefore, I have to look completely coldly at the enthusiasm around it. The first one should have remained alone.

At the very least, as good as the first part. The story is logically given a new setting and a number of new characters appear on the scene, especially the Puss in Boots, who’s is a welcome and hilarious addition. Unlike the first one, the concept is much crazier, there is more crazy action and humour, the donkey becomes even more talkative and Shrek becomes a real Hollywood hero. It may not be to everyone's taste, but I liked this straightforward style topped off with a great final half-hour and, notwithstanding a few dull spots, I had a great time. But if it weren't for the few major changes from the first film, the old friends Shrek and Donkey probably wouldn't be able to pull it off on their own, which was confirmed in the sequel.

The second adventure of the ogre has pretty much the same atmosphere and energy as its three years older predecessor. The endearing lesson of "don't judge a book by its cover" (even beyond the "seven mountains") runs through the entire film and is still relevant today. In addition to the old familiar characters, the second Shrek features a number of new and engaging figures, most notably the owner of the cutest animated eyes, Puss in Boots, and the devilish Fairy Godmother. The second Shrek offers another solid load of humorous, but also action and touching moments, which will not get tired even on repeated viewings. The highlight of the whole film for me is without a doubt the "Holding Out for a Hero" sequence.

The second part is my favorite in the series and I have to admit that it's mainly because of the great soundtrack. Although I also caught myself quoting some lines before they were spoken. I still immensely enjoy this animated film and I'm glad that I gave "Shrek," which was so popular this time, a chance and didn't avoid it, even though I had originally planned to.
