Armas blancas

Valeria is ten years old, lives in a city in the south of Mexico and begins puberty. She lives with her parents and her older brother. Suddenly, her uncle Julio comes to live in her house. Valeria accidentally overhears a conversation and finds out that Julio is going to divorce Ana, Valeria's favorite aunt. That same afternoon, Valeria witnesses how a couple touches each other underwater in a pool. Until that moment she had not seen anything like it or does not remember it. Julio's divorce begins to affect her emotionally. Her uncle is eating less and drinking more. Valeria becomes more observant of her body and is curious about her nudity, her classmates and her relationships. To her surprise, Sabina, her best friend, is going through something very similar and wants to experience relationships with other children more quickly. One day, Sabina's parents discover that she has a boyfriend and they punish her at home. Rumors about Sabina's whereabouts grow at school. Valeria tries to defend her but she doesn't understand how what Sabina does is necessarily bad. The phone rings at Valeria's house. Valeria answers to meet Ana and see each other soon.
