Joey Tribbiani jóravaló, kicsit hiszékeny és ábrándozó színészpalánta. New Yorkból Los Angelesbe költözik. Nővére, Gina veszi szárnyai alá. Gina együtt él húsz éves fiával, az egyetemista Michaellel, aki kifejezetten zseni és különc alkat. Joey még az álmodozások korát éli, hollywoodi sztár akar lenni és ebben néha segítségére (ha nem inkább hátrányára) van ügynöke, Bobbie. A tyúkanyós modorú Gina épp eleget küzd, hogy szórakozott fia végre önálló legyen, nemhogy még saját öccsét is nevelgesse. Ám kénytelen mindkét reménytelennek tűnő feladatot hősiesen felvállalni. It's definitely funny, but whereas in Friends there were six protagonists for a half-hour episode, each with a different style of comedy, all pulling their own weight, here Joey alone doesn't have a chance to pull it off. And the quality of the episodes is inconsistent.

Season 1 - 90% - My huge fear disappeared after the second episode. Equally successful, funny, and incredibly well-timed within the purely comedic series (especially when it focuses on Joey in the foreground). I can't help it, but Tribbiani's new escapades already feel like an integral part of Friends. P.S.: If you're not crazy about Andrea Anders, then you don't understand the show.. I didn't even wish this for Rachel Green. Season 2 - 70% - Insignificant newcomer Zach, unnecessarily overshadowed genius Howard, and slightly exaggerated fool Jimmy. Joey can have as many partners as he wants, but as long as it's not Chandler, it will all still depend on him. But what hurts the most - the naturalness is gone. The pleasant exaggeration has turned into stiffness, the actors are beginning to overact, and it's no longer easy for me to root for the characters because the plot twists are only superficial. Even though these characters don't deserve to end in disappointment, that's how fate wanted it. Friends remain at the forefront, and Joey, as a sufficiently pleasant ending, at least didn't disappoint for the most part.
