The plot, based on an ancient legend, concerns the son of a renowned Kabuki actor. When the son falls in love with a servant girl, his father violently opposes the union. A strong dramatic story that can currently be harmed by a very slow storytelling pace, a great inclusion of Japanese theatre that does not tell much to today's audience, and also the fact that the story does not seem innovative in any way. However, the Japanese style is more than evident, but rather in the poeticism of the film than in anything else.
