In this, the 12th installment, Tora-san watches the shop in Shibamata while his family is away on a trip to Kyushu. He falls in love with an unmarried painter (Keiko Kishi), the younger sister of an old friend. He begins visiting her studio regularly, and it soon becomes apparent to everyone that Tora-san has fallen in love once more. (Shochiku)
