Loretta Young portrays a lovely Swedish country girl named Katrin, complete with accent and peasant blouse, who comes to the big city and lands a gig working in Glenn Morley's (Joeseph Cotton) mansion as a second maid. Ethel Barrymore plays his iron-fisted mother, Mrs. Morley, who also lives there. The charismatic son and tough mother are the money behind a well-oiled political machine that is in the process of electing a congressman. The congressman is in the fight of his life. Katrin, naive and frank, stirs up the house when she comes on the scene and openly voices her disapproval of their candidate by heckling him at a rally. (forgalmazó hivatalos szövege)

angol A nice comedy with a heroine who manages to fill you with positive energy from the very beginning, which is quite appreciated. Even after years, the comedy remains funny, it's nice, gentle, and pleasing with its black-and-white presentation, where the absence of color doesn't detract from the film at all. On top of that, there's a nice romance that doesn't offend, but there isn't much more to it. ()
