Nouvion kis kávézójának zaklatott tulajdonosa nehéz háborút kell vívjon. René az életét kockáztatja azzal, hogy a Francia Ellenállás kérésére két brit pilótát és egy rádiót rejteget anyósa emeleti hálószobájában, miközben a német hadsereg tisztjei a földszinti kávézóban állomásoznak. Ezen felül a megfizethetetlen Bukott madonna nagy micsodákkal festmény rejtegetésében is részt vesz. De René igazi problémája a felesége, Edit és az asszony várható bosszúja, ha kiderülne hogy a kávézó tulajdonosának mindkét csinos felszolgálólánnyal van viszonya. (Budapest Film)

“Listen very carefully, I shall say zis only once." Crabtree and LeClerc – two unforgettable little characters together with many more unforgettable little characters in unforgettable scenes in an unforgettable sitcom. Simply an unforgettable experience which was unfortunately harmed by the fact that the authors didn’t know when to stop and the last four series are already rather forgettable. Unfortunately it becomes the same thing over and over. “It’s me, LeClerc!"

This British endeavor teeters precisely on the edge between genius and awkwardness. It is highly stylized, eccentric, and the actors overact to the point of catastrophe, but despite all this, it is highly amusing and original. It is true, however, that if the dialogue and characters were just a tiny bit more eccentric, I would rate it much lower. The series greatly benefits from excellent dubbing, which is no longer a given these days. The individual voices fit the actors' faces perfectly. Overall impression: 90%. Arthur Bostrom's French with his unforgettable catchphrases added one more star to the series.
