When an enormous grizzly bear begins to terrorize the quiet rural community of Pine Lake, teenager John Harding -- the lonely new kid in town -- sets out to find the bear and reveal the reasons behind her deadly behavior. But John's not alone in the woods. Expert tracker Jack Buck is hot on his heels, and local land developer Harlan Adams also has his mind set on the grizzly, which he plans to kill.
