Tokyo Shaking

Tokyo Shaking is a French drama set in the wake of the huge tsunami that occurred on March 11, 2011 in Japan and triggered the Fukushima disaster. Alexandra is the newly appointed French middle manager in the Tokyo office of an international company, and has a tough time juggling family and career in yet another new place. The husband has remained in Hong Kong, where he follows the news with increasing anxiety and wants the family to return as soon as possible. The confusion surrounding the disaster is great, and people in Tokyo vary between total calm and hysterical fear, but no official sources are able to assess the extent of the crisis. Alexandra is torn between loyally following the company’s instructions and taking responsibility for the other employees, or trying to get herself and her family out of Tokyo before it’s too late.
