Wayne Grey az arizonai sivatagban készül fel utolsó képességi vizsgájára a tűzoltóknál, amikor meteorit csapódik be a közelben. Másnap pedig Dr. Ira Kane biológus és Harry Block geológus magánakcióra indulnak a meteorit felkutatására. A mintákat elemezve kiderül, hogy szédületes sebességgel fejlődő, magasabb rendű életformáról van szó. A fiatal tudós-páros már látja maga előtt a Nobel-díj átadási ünnepséget, azonban a felhőtlen öröm hamarosan rémálommá változik. Ráadásul a katonaság erőszakos hozzáállása tovább súlyosbítja a helyzetet... (TV2)
