Szívek királynője (2019)

angol This seemingly peaceful family story develops over time into a chilling psychological drama. Northerners should patent such films for how bravely they can deal with dark themes. Trine Dyrholm played the erotically daring title role with unprecedented conviction, and she could not have played the insensitive Anna any better. It should be noted that Gustav Lindh and Magnus Krepper kept up with her throughout and also gave excellent performances. (85%)

47 méter mélyen 2. (2019)

angol I admit that I quite enjoyed this horror spectacle. The creators made some mistakes and illogicalities, but who cares? I felt cold at the thought of wandering somewhere in the mysterious depths of a labyrinth of underwater caves with limited oxygen and a shark at my back. I certainly wasn't bored, so I'll turn a blind eye to the unlikely and greatly overdone ending. However, the choice of locations in which the filming took place is certainly worthy of praise. (60%)

Koronaékszerek (2011)

angol It was with great pleasure that I let myself be carried away on the waves of fantasy by this modern Nordic fairy tale. It is an incredibly strange film full of poetry, life's sadness, and atmospheric scenes. Not everything always suited me, but I'm not going to dwell on the minor flaws after all the beauty. (80%)

Csapda (2013)

angol Ugh, that was quite tense! Moreover, everything seemed very realistic, which is not often seen in action films. I was a bit disconcerted that they have such crazy loopholes in the US laws that basically allow you to bypass standard court proceedings. Then I guess there is nothing left to do but take twisted justice into one’s own hands. This is exactly what the rather naive Dwayne Johnson tries to do, with a lot of help from Jon Bernthal, who gives quite possibly the best performance of all involved. (75%)

Máris hiányzol (2015)

angol The opening ten minutes didn't impress me much, but after that, it was a ride in the best sense of the word. No film has given me so many different feelings that changed in my core while watching a film for a long time. It's not common for a film about cancer to feel like a little celebration of life most of the time, and yet at times, it moved me to tears. The applause on the open stage was undoubtedly deserved by the absolutely fantastic Toni Collette, but Drew Barrymore did great too. It should be noted that the emotionally charged story is accompanied by very tastefully chosen music. (80%)

Nang Non (2019)

angol It is more of a documentary than an action-adventure drama. The film lacks emotion, even suspense, which means that the whole thing is presented in a rather uninteresting way. Unfortunately, Tom Waller doesn't reveal much about the rescue operation, which most of us still have vivid memories of. (50%)

Mladé víno (1986)

angol Recycling material doesn't always pay off, but in the case of the wine trilogy that ends with Young Wine, it's no big deal. Although these are comedies that are true to the time in which they were made, they have a bit of an edge compared to similar contemporary works. The excellent cast certainly contributes to this. Stockholm (2018)

angol I finally know what the phrase "Stockholm Syndrome" means and what it is derived from. Maybe Stockholm didn't need to be so comedic, but then it would probably have been one of the plethora of bank robbery movies without really grabbing my attention. I wasn't bored, so I have no reason to give it a bad rating, especially since the main roles were played brilliantly by Ethan Hawke and Noomi Rapace. (75%)

Kegyetlen zsaruk (2018)

angol S. Craig Zahler deserves a medal for such an original and clever whodunit with a strong social overlay. Especially since the crime genre in America has been on the decline in recent years. I am amazed that he not only wrote the screenplay, but also contributed significantly to the music, which very much suited the slow pace of the narrative, and he directed the whole thing himself. I'm getting more and more interested in this guy. Some of the dialogue in Dragged Across Concrete could be set in stone. Occasional black-humored quips lighten the tense and ever-thickening atmosphere. The story has a consistent and engaging plot with unexpected twists and turns. The icing on the cake is the well-chosen cast. (85%)

Isabelle Huppert, message personnel (2020) (Tévéfilm)

angol In this documentary, Isabelle Huppert didn't reveal that much about herself, but I enjoyed her reminiscing immensely. Among other things, I became convinced that she is still one of the most expressive and interesting female faces in world cinema. The excerpts used from movies speak volumes about her immense acting talent and charisma, through which she managed to captivate audiences from a young age. (85%)
