A zsémbes (2014)

angol A deeply human story about a man who refuses to accept that the world works differently than it did when he was young. The film is full of slightly humorous situations that made me laugh out loud, yet I wouldn't consider it a comedy at all. It's a kind of Nordic caress of the soul, underlined by truly beautiful music, although the old man was sometimes frustrating in the way he could drive everyone around him crazy.

Idétlen időkig (1993)

angol A classic in the romantic comedy genre that I have seen many times and I don't think I will ever get tired of it. The traditionally great Bill Murray is unbeatable in his role, and Andie MacDowell is wonderfully charming and there is an incredible spark between the two of them. The ending was simply great.

Hassel - Season 1 (2017) (évad)

angol The first four episodes dragged on unbelievably. I felt like it was about absolutely nothing. It was only from about the fifth episode that the action got going and I started to get a better understanding of the plot. Since Ola Rapace is charming, and I've gotten used to the rock background, I gave the series a chance and watched it to the end. Now I have to admit that it wasn't as bad as it seemed at the beginning.

Egy szent szarvas meggyilkolása (2017)

angol What drew me to watch the film was the cast. The bearded Colin Farrell was almost unrecognizable, only his eyes gave him away, and Nicole Kidman appeared slightly older, although her youthful charm couldn't be denied. It is the story of a cardiac surgeon who made a mistake during an operation in the past, which led to the death of a patient, whose son is now seeking revenge. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. However, you have the option to choose: sacrifice one of your children or your wife for the death of my father. Although it was somewhat cold and emotionally devoid in terms of acting, it was brilliantly filmed. I was fascinated by the eerily disturbing music that crept through the plot and greatly enhanced the depressing mood of the film. Barry Keoghan, playing the vengeful teenage son, portrayed his role so repulsively that I swallowed it hook, line, and sinker. (75%)

Hajsza (2013) (sorozat)

angol I would have never believed that watching almost simultaneously police investigations of murders and at the same time the killer in action would be so intriguing and suspenseful, even though I know the perpetrator beforehand. The creators only used this approach in two seasons, but even the third one was worth it. It was more psychological and had a significantly slower pace, which incredibly worked in building up the final episode full of aggression and total self-destruction of Paul Spector. The series boasts great performances from almost everyone involved. Focusing on the main characters, Gillian Anderson as the investigator definitely did not disappoint and Jamie Dornan as the killer was absolutely superb. At times I found myself rooting for him to get out of it all, which I don't think has ever happened to me in any crime drama, to sympathize with a negative character like that. He was able to play on a touching note as well, for example, in moments when his expression conveyed that he truly loved his daughter. The Fall is undoubtedly one of the best series I've seen so far. I have to recommend it.

Mindig csak talán (2019)

angol A fairly boring romance that doesn't offend, but doesn't delight either. However, Keanu Reeves saved the day. When he appeared, I almost choked with laughter. It was a refresher that raised my rating slightly above average. And the rap at the very end was also cool!

anyám! (2017)

angol An abstract psychotic story that deeply affected me. The initial idyll of partnership starts to be disrupted by uninvited guests, whose number keeps growing until it reaches a horrific apocalypse. The main character was very relatable to me because I feel the same way about some of the visits. This movie made me reflect on our occasionally twisted world, and I won't easily forget it.

Flashdance (1983)

angol The musical hit of my youth. I still remember how excited I was when I came home from the movie theater that day. It was quite a revelation among the films that were shown in our movie theaters at that time. Jennifer Beals was a great sweetheart, and moreover, she danced excellently. The story is a rather naive romance, but it's still enjoyable to watch after all these years. A wonderful nostalgic memory with a great soundtrack... (70%)

Obietnica (2014)

angol This psychological drama set in the environment of the teenage generation shows how far a lovesick individual can be driven by a relatively innocent betrayal in love. The main role was played very convincingly by the talented debutant Eliza Rycembel. The story isn't served to the viewer half-heartedly, which requires their increased attention and, at the same time, adds to the suspense.

Bohém rapszódia (2018)

angol I've been a huge fan of Queen and their brilliant music since I was a young girl, so I was really looking forward to this film. I can't help it, but Bohemian Rhapsody is a big disappointment for me because of that. Visually and musically, it's a near-perfect piece of work, but it doesn't have much in common with a biopic. Queen is primarily Freddie Mercury, and I assumed I would actually learn something about him. Where did he come from and where did his personality take shape? His sex life was probably quite turbulent, that must be obvious to everyone, but here it looks like he was almost innocent... It seems to me that the film skillfully glides only on the surface and doesn't want to get even a little dirty. If I compare it to The Dirt (what a fitting title) about the band Mötley Crüe, I can't rate Bohemian Rhapsody better than slightly above average. The Dirt is a truly believable biopic with all the trappings that go with it.
