Rating individual episodes of the uneven fifth season ultimately resulted in only three five-star ratings, which is even worse than my final rating of the fourth season, in my opinion a great shame. It is a shame mainly because it became apparent over time that the creators were working with an increasingly larger budget, but the higher finances paradoxically rather harmed the scripts. At some moments, I truly felt sorry for how clumsily and cheaply the creators resolved certain plot twists. And on top of that, the black not only a priest but also a bishop!!! This raises questions like: "Where did he come from?", "Who made him a priest?" and "Who made him a bishop?". I understand that certain historical facts go against the grain for the comrades at Netflix, but in this way they only function as blunt propagandists and it is really strange to me that they do not realize this. / Lesson: You can't buy abilities even with money.

At the previous part, I literally got tangled up when evaluating the final episode of the fifth season and actually the whole series, but I could moderate myself again because I was disappointed in some aspects of its story. I liked how Uhtred's story closed, which came full circle, but I had a problem with the events that led up to it. The siege reeked of such a strong script deficiency that I couldn't help but unintentionally remember the dynamic duo of Benioff/Weiss, which would start an attack on any fortification with a charge of Dothraki light cavalry. Here it was significantly different; about fifteen men attacked the gate with a battering ram, while the army stood idle and only functioned to replenish the fallen among these fifteen batterers, with the heroic king somehow not thinking to lead the men into the woods en route to tie up some ladders. They all stood there like workers waiting for the morning bus. Well, the creators already had some brighter moments. / Lesson: When the gods really try, they push out some moisture.

I don't even know if I'm writing a comment / review of the series now or just its first season. The finale, however, left the doors open for a possible continuation and I would not really mind a potential second season. Already in my observations of individual episodes, I have let the idea seep in that it was not a masterpiece, but during the season it became clear how the creators actually managed to hit the spot when they created a fresh, action-packed spectacle of B-movie character based on a comic, which entertained me without mentally exhausting me while watching it. / Lesson: The more heads, the more knowledge. 3*+
