The Faculty is a slightly above-par teenage horror flick. It’s nice to watch, it didn’t scare me at all, I don’t need to watch it again.

Awful borefest, everything that is at least a little interesting happens in the last 10 minutes. The terribly dumb behaviour of the characters is only surpassed by the very predictable plot. If it wasn’t for Tobin Bell, it’d be Boo!

A watchable B-movie with terrible special effects (the attack of the crows is unforgettable), a pretty female lead, several tense scenes and some decent atmosphere here and there, all on the very overused theme of a village “where something’s wrong”.

Great disappointment, the weakest Hannibal hands down. The plot is very unoriginal and boring, the murders aren’t interesting and there are lots of unnecessary scenes and holes in logic. Gaspard Ulliel looks silly rather than demonic and in two of the murders he almost made me burst out in laughter, which doesn’t happen often and, more importantly, shouldn’t happen. 50%

It wasn’t the worst. You can feel hints of an atmosphere here and there and the design of the aliens is not bad. But everything else is terrible: the plot, the dialogues, the actors, the lack of bloody and terrifying scenes. In short, Night Skies is a pointless film, but it’s alright to kill time on an autumn evening. That something like this actually happened? I don’t believe it. 50%

A noticeable drop in quality from the first part, but the second Grudge is still an above-par ghost story. Not all the jump-scares are effective this time, the ghosts look terrifying only sometimes, and the feeling of dread from the first part doesn’t appear until the second half. We follow again three storylines that connect at the end, and one of those connections is actually surprising. My rating is somewhere between 50 and 60%

I can’t help it, I didn’t like this at all. This film isn’t scary, tense or funny. It’s a waste of time, that’s what it is. The characters are so unlikeable that they deserve even more brutal deaths, the killer in a Ronald Reagan mask has no charisma and the plot couldn’t be more predictable. 20%

If there is one horror movie this year that deserves a full score, it’s this one. It has an awesome atmosphere, especially in the second half, and I also liked the diversity of the monsters. But it’s not only about monsters, the story has a very strong dramatic line, too. The ending is amazing! More movies like this! Darabont has another successful King adaptation under his belt.

Superb horror comedy, it didn’t bore me for a second. Don’t be fooled by the beginning that looks more crime drama than horror, because what follows after a few minutes is certainly horror. A stylish killer, fun characters and murders, and lots of blood. And the ending, with blood almost flowing out the screen, is supported by a music score that will leave a smile on your face for a long time. Recommended.

It’s not a bad film, but I’d hesitate to call it horror. Rather, it is a standard and very predictable thriller with beautiful animals in the main roles. If Prey had at least one idea and avoided that crazy happy-ending, it could aspire to a rating higher than standard.
