Marvel Daredevil - Season 2 (2016) (évad)

angol Another excellent season confirms Daredevil's high qualities. The Punisher and the prison scenes with the Kingpin were the biggest boost. The Punisher's trial was also amazing. Slightly let down by the alternation of villains, I'm more suited to one villain for the whole series, but the satisfaction is high.

A boszorkány (2015)

angol While The Witch isn't quite my cup of tea, it has its qualities and you'll be hard pressed to find a competing horror film set in the same period. I especially praise the setting, the director perfectly captures the early modern era in New England with its strong religious overtones and the strict evolution of Puritan family behaviour. The performances are perfect, especially the psychopathic Kate Dickie as the mother is so believable that you feel the film's suffocating terror. Also worthy of praise are the lovely Anya Taylor-Joy, the disturbing Ralph Ineson, and the devilish goat, after whose performance I’m never petting a goat again at the zoo. The atmosphere is rightly oppressive, and while it's a shame that the film doesn't exude much tension, I didn't get bored, which is essential. I dare not recommend The Witch too highly, as most modern audiences won't get the film, which is understandable given the lack of colour and scares. Story 7/10, Atmosphere 7/10, Gore 3/10, Visuals 6/10, Action 2/10, Suspense 5/10,Humour 0/10. Entertainment 6/10. 70%.

Holidays (2016)

angol I was looking forward to Holidays since the first trailer, but it turned out very badly. Not a single short story is above average, there are only average and below average ones, which is a shame considering the great original theme. I was intrigued by Valentine's Day, New Year's Day and St. Patrick's Day. I won't even comment on the rest. 35%

Nézd, ki van itt (2015)

angol Definitely hats off to the idea and originality, but as a comedy Look Who's Back didn't really succeed for me. The humour missed the mark for me, I was more curious about people's opinions and Hitler's actual speech in the modern world. Decent, but I was expecting much more. 60%

A meghívás (2015)

angol I really underestimated The Invitation, just by not sharing the trailer on my fan page, because I found it bland, but the film was better. I was desperately biting my nails with boredom for the first 30 minutes, but with the start of the game "I Want", I acutely refocused and my attention was captured and committed to the film until the end. It is slightly disappointing that the film is quite readable and not too shocking in terms of plot development, and the ending itself, although surprisingly action-packed and suspenseful, was not brutal and nerve-wracking as it was in Mother's Day or Inside, for example. A big plus is the very last shot, which increases the rating by perhaps 15%. A good film, but there was potential here to be the hit of the decade with instant cult status if I had been behind the script!!! :D 75%

Pofázunk és végünk Miamiban (2016)

angol Mostly on the same wavelength as the first part. I didn't have any big laughing fits, but Kevin Hart is my favourite and thanks to him I finished the film without suffering. Occasionally nice action, pretty women and a good comic situations. Tika Sumpter is my new love! :O 60%

A fiú (2016)

angol Nice stuff. The Boy is too nicely shot for a horror film (who would have thought that the director of Devil Inside would make such a visual treat), the interiors of the mansion are just great. The doll itself adds the right mysterious touch and a sense of unease, Lauren Cohan is damn good to watch and although the atmosphere builds slowly, the director throws a decent refreshing twist at the end, which greatly improved the overall impression. Out of this year's horror dearth so far, this is definitely one of the better ones. 75%

Támadás a Fehér Ház ellen 2. – London ostroma (2016)

angol Solid sequel. London Has Fallen has a very dynamic and intense pace, where you breathe in at the beginning and out at the end. The attack on London itself is very stylish and destructive, and I was pleasantly surprised that anyone from a burger vendor to an ambulance driver can be a terrorist. At times I was bothered by the CGI in some of the explosions, but it's all saved by the uncompromising Gerard Butler, who is in such form that he takes out an entire Delta Force unit single-handedly and knifes the terrorists in a stealthy “Splinter Cell”-like rendition, all of which I could only marvel at, with clear camerawork, a perfect soundtrack and almost no editing. At times, you'll be delighted by the smile-inducing quips from Butler's mouth or the emotional scenes packed with tension that will bring a tear to your eye. As far as American patriotism is concerned, it is of course in great excess here and I am probably one of the few who doesn't mind, on the contrary!! The perfect entertaining Yummy. 80%.

Hush (2016)

angol Kudos to Flanagan for switching up the horror themes from time to time and not focusing on just one (I hope there's an exploitation flick sometime in the future!). Hush doesn't have much to impress in my eyes. It's a very light home invasion flick in which the blood is scarce, the twist is nonexistent and the bad guy doesn't look creepy enough once the mask comes off. The suspense works in places, but a couple of times I found myself getting bored as well, since nothing major happens. Maybe next time there will be rape and torture :D hehe. 55ˇ%

Járvány (2016)

angol John Suits isn't a bad director in the low budget film genre. His previous effort, The Scribbler, impressed with its unorthodox form and in Pandemic he tries again and succeeds better than before. The biggest upside is the handling of the POV format, which adds a touch of dynamism and authenticity, and at times you get the feeling you're playing a very action-packed CGI romp. As for the plot, it's completely bland, taking place in the near future where most of the population is infected and what I liked is that the infection has up to five stages. There is quite a lot of action, it's long, pleasantly brutal and very suspenseful. In places the film also manages to create a dense horror atmosphere that reminded me of REC. An unexpected surprise for me. I had fun. Better than the shitty Wyrmwood. 75%.
