Párizsból szeretettel (2010)

angol Boring. I’ve seen stuff like this a hundred times, and the action camera and the European filters can’t save it. Travolta's wisecracks are okay, the action is very average and the plot is meaningless. Taken set the standard, now it's only going to get worse.

Tökéletes katona 3. - Egy új kezdet (2009)

angol If I forget about the empty script and the cheap production design, I am left with excellently filmed fights, a raw Middle Eastern setting, and the relentless bruiser Arlovski. Surprisingly watchable and grittier than both previous parts combined, and the fact that it sometimes mirrors Terminator in certain shots doesn't matter at all.

Szigorúan piszkos ügyek (2002)

angol There’s hardly any action, which I consider a fatal flaw in an action movie. And it’s not even saved by the interestingly constructed, though in essence banal, plot. The characters are well portrayed and you’ll whether you like Eastern mysticism and gimmicks or not, but that is the only positive aspect I found, the rest is boredom and mediocrity. Very average movie, I don't understand the high ratings, but that's normal here.

Hasonmás (2009)

angol A proper fiasco. Bruce Willis is clearly bored and wasting his time on unsuccessful and rip-off sci-fi flicks. Jonathan Mostow completely failed, Rosamund Pike’s breasts are three sizes larger than her standard, which sticks out like a sore thumb on Surrogates, and overall, this colourful and non-contact fairy tale is just golden tinsel that hardly earned its keep. I recommend avoiding it completely.

Törvénytisztelő polgár (2009)

angol F. Gary Gray is indeed a routine artist, and probably will be forever, but I would be lying if I said Citizen is not an interesting and relatively thrilling movie at certain moments. I was surprised by the brutality of some scenes and the R rating, but I was not surprised by the awkward twist and the average screenplay. There is a decent chemistry between Butler and Foxx, but they exploit it only halfway (greetings to the screenwriter),.The pyrotechnic effects like Backdraft and the shootout in the cemetery evoking Sheriff were a pleasant retro touch.

Két szerető (2008)

angol A ninimalistic (setting, location, music) intimate drama with character actors (best one being Vinessa Shaw) and an average plot. James Gray has a talent for developing personal connections and somewhat manages to stay on the track of realism. Based on the trailer, I expected more genuine emotions and fewer positive moments, but in the end, it was exactly the opposite. It’s still a well-thought-out piece, expressed clearly, and the plot is presented comprehensibly, in a sufficiently dense form. Definitely a rising trend.

A végső állomás 4 (2009)

angol After watching the movie, you will likely think about one thing: was it really that stupid or was it all just an excellent exaggeration? I'm afraid it's option A, so it's one of the dumbest sequels of the year.

Szellemkutya (1999)

angol A simple story delivered in an unusual. I have never seen Whitaker so cool before and the dialogue scenes between the main characters are fantastically intense. You can see that the director is an old hand. A simple, TV-looking, yet excellently crafted piece, tailored for a narrow audience.

Képlet (2009)

angol Thrilling atmosphere and visual effects. Proyas is one of the few directors who knows how to utilize the technical aspects of a film to the fullest, which means not only as a showcase of current technologies, but as a fully-fledged plot attribute. The solid beginning is unfortunately marred the quite clumsy ending – a blend of kitsch and pathos – and at times I even felt that the director didn't know where to go. In the last minutes, it was quite a mess. Knowing could have turned out much better. Cage is bearable after a long time, even in a non-action role.

Pokoli édenkert (2009)

angol Quite solid, until the awkward and jaded twist, the audience doesn't know who is who and what is what. Unfortunately, the final action-packed 20 minutes completely destroyed my positive opinion of this film. The natural setting is good, and so is the work with it. The performances are decent, especially Timothy Olyphant, who is quite sharp. However, as I already mentioned, the twist is absolutely pointless.
