Chang-dong Lee

Lee Changdong debuted as a director in 1997 with Chorok mulkogi (Green Fish). In 2002 he competed in Venice with Oasis, winner of the Silver Lion for Best Director, Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best New Actress, the FIPRESCI Prize and the SIGNIS Award. His other films have screened in Cannes: Bakha satang (Peppermint Candy, 1999) screened at the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs, Milyang (Secret Sunshine, 2007) participated in the official competition and received the Best Actress Award (Jeon Doyeon), Shi (Poetry, 2010) won the Best Screenplay Award and Burning (2018) won the FIPRESCI Award.
