Ruth Vega Fernández was born in the Canary Islands in Spain and, at a young age, went with her parents to Sweden. She complemented her training as an actor (Theatre School, Lyons, France) with dance Studies (The Royal Opera House in Gothenburg, Sweden). After living for a time in the States, she decided to return to Europe and set up residence in Paris. Her personal history has guaranteed that she speaks English, Spanish, Swedish and French fluently. She is an actress with many different registers. In theatre, she has interpreted Euripides, Chekhov and Ingmar Bergman (“Scenes from a Marriage”, Théâtre de la Bastille). She works indistinctly in film and TV, with keynote productions with the Swedish director, Mikael Marcimain. He directed her in many award winning films like Ull till kamp (FIPA d´Or 2007), Call Girl (FIPRESCI prize at the Festival of Toronto 2007) and Gentlemen (2014), for which she was nominated as best supporting actress in the Swedish Film Academy awards. She was named “Best dressed woman of the year” in 2013 by the Swedish edition of the magazine, Elle.
