Paolo Genovese

He began his career as an author and director of commercials. In 1998, he shot along with Luca Miniero the short film Neapoletan Spell, nominated for a David di Donatello award, which became a film in 2002, also directed with Luca Miniero. After several films and TV series together with Luca Miniero, in 2010 he directed alone La banda dei Babbi Natale, with Aldo, Giovanni e Giacomo, and the following year was the turn of another box-office success: Immaturi. In 2012 he directed Immaturi - Il viaggio, sequel to the 2011 film; and Una Famiglia Perfetta was also released that same year. In 2014 he directed Tutta colpa di Freud and in 2015 Sei mai stato sulla Luna? In 2016, his film Perfect Strangers was a box-office success and won the David di Donatello for Best Film and Best Screenplay; a few days later, the screenplay was also awarded at the Tribeca Film Festival. His other directions include The Place (2017), Superheroes (2021), and The First Day of My Life (2023).
