Laida Lertxundi

Laida Lertxundi is a filmmaker and artist who lives and works between Los Angeles and the Basque Country. Her films have screened at the Whitney Biennial in 2012 and at festivals including Locarno, Toronto, Rotterdam, New York and Gijon, as well as at the MoMa in New York and the Tate Modern and Whitechapel Gallery in London. Her shows have run at Matadero Madrid, LUX (London), Tramway (Glasgow), FuturDome (Milan), fluent (Santander) and Tabakalera (San Sebastian), amongst others. Her work is part of the Museo Centro de Arte Reina Sofía collection. In 2019 she was president of the Zabaltegi-Tabakalera jury at the San Sebastian Festival. She was head of the postgraduate course in creation at the Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola.
