Alain Guiraudie

After high school, Alain GUIRAUDIE (1964, France) wrote a few unsuccessful novels. One of them became the starting point for his first film, Les héroes sont immortels (1990). Guiraudie is a self-taught filmmaker who worked as a night guard, and then made a number of - often comic - shorts and features in which his love for the French countryside is clearly visible. With Stranger by the Lake (2013) he became known internationally.
