Jadwiga Kowalska is born in 1982 in Bern. She is a freelance animation filmmaker and an illustrator living in Switzerland. She studies at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU) and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. In 2009, her film Tôt ou tard (2008) receives the Swiss Film Award for the best animation film. In 2016, she completes her Masters degree in illustration at HSLU with her first illustrated children's book Vom Angsthasen, der ein Wolf sein wollte.
