José Miguel Ribeiro

Born in 1966 in Amadora, Portugal, José Miguel Ribeiro graduates in visual arts at the Faculdade de Belas-artes at the University of Lisbon and studies drawing and puppets animation at Lazennec Bretagne and at Filmógrafo in Porto. In 1994, he co-directs Eggs, and in 1996, he wins an award at Cinanima for O Banquete da Rainha (1994). The Suspect (2000) earns him the Cartoon d'or and more than 25 international awards. In 2007, he founds, along with Nuno Beato and Eva Yébenes, the production company, "Sardinha em Lata".
