Screenwriter, director and writer. He made his breakthrough as a poet in 1980, but became famous in 1988 with his debut feature film as a director, Show Me Love. He grew up as an outcast. At tweenty-three he had already written five poetry colections and a novel. After havind studied at the only film school in Sweden, Dramatiska Institutetm, he directed three short films before moving onto feature films. His next work, Together, showed the life of a comune living in the Stockolhom suburbs during the seventies. After the success of two of his optimistical and luminous films, Moodysson filmed the brutal Lylya Forever in 2002. He has said that this movie could not have been thought if it was not for his his cristian believes and the frecuent fantasies the protagonist has constitute the enlightening moments the director had in an oscure world. A Hole in My Heart, his another film, is more experimental than his narrative work, and it is said to be designed like such to shock the audience. Moodysson is a socialist, vegetarian and is deeply spiritual, aspects that have been gradually hightened in his work.
