Michal Pěchouček (b. 1973) is a key figure in contemporary Czech video, moving between gallery artefacts and independent film. "The videos, which I call films, depict a simple story with an ambiguous outcome. I generally animated the static image of photographs, but also inched towards the border of silent feature film." Winner of the Jindřich Chalupecký Prize (2003).
