Patricia Reyes Spíndola, actress, director, and producer of film, theater, and television, stepped for the first time on a film set in The Lord of Osanto, by Jaime Humberto Hermosillo. In 1972, at the age of 21, she began one of the most distinguished careers in Mexican film and, certainly, one of the great iconic moments, many of them in collaboration with directors of the level of Arturo Ripstein, Jaime Humberto Hermosillo, and Emilio Fernández.
Born in Mexico City, she pursued her acting vocation by preparing herself in various workshops in Mexico, the United Kingdom, and Europe. Her talent has earned her multiple awards, including four awards Ariel for Los motivos de Luz, La reina de la noche, El otro crimen and Actas de Marusia, just a few years after having begun her career. Along with film, she has developed an important career in theater and television. In television, she worked on major hits such as El maleficio (1983), El extraño retorno de Diana Salazar (1998), and El vuelo del águila (1995), as well as on series such as La hora marcada (1986), Mujeres asesinas (2008), Fear the Walking Dead (2015) y La reina del sur (2019). Furthermore, she started her career as a director in different projects for the television screen.
In the ficmonterrey, she has participated as an actress and producer of La teta de Botero (Humberto Busto, 2014) and actress in Marcelo González’s first feature Estar o no estar (2015), as well as in several films by Arturo Ripstein, as part of his tribute in 2015. In 2022 she participated as part of the cast of A quien cierra los ojos. Her career was recognized with the UNAM Film Medal in 2007. She is the director of MM Studio, an acting school and theater producer of great national impact.
