Djoko Rossich was born in 1932 in the Serbian town Krupan. In 1951 he immigrated to Bulgaria for political reasons. He is a graduate of the Institute of Economics and a School of radio journalism. He worked as journalist at the Bulgarian National Radio for 17 years.
He has been featured in over 110 films mainly in Bulgaria, Hungary and Serbia. In 1998 he won an Actor in a Leading Role award at the 29th National Film Festival in Hungary for the films Gypsy Lore and Passion. In 2002 Djoko Djoko Rossich was awarded a Lifetime Achievement in Bulgarian Cinema award at Albena TV Festival for his role in the film Glory of Bulgaria directed by Vasil Barkov. In 2004 the Union of Artists in Bulgaria awarded an Icarus to him.
