Rikiya Imaizumi's I Catch a Terrible Cat (2012) won the Best Directing Award at the Transylvania International Film Festival. He has directed such TV dramas as "Gozen 3 Ji no Muhochitai" (with Tsubasa Honda and Joe Odagiri), "24 Jikan Joyu: Matsu Onna", and "Tokyo Sentimental" (with Kotaro Yoshida). Same Old, Same Old is his third selection to TIFF after Their Distance (2015) and Sad Tea (2013).
