Életrajz

Eric Bress partnered with J. Mackye Gruber in 1994 to write screenplays full time. In 1997, they produced, wrote and directed "Blunt," an indie feature that was named Best Comedy at the 1998 New York Independent Film and Video Festival and was a selection of the New Orleans Film Festival. Bress's big break came in 1999 when he sold a television pilot to ABC called "KYLE XY." It would take another seven years for the show to actually air on ABC Family, but soon Bress and Gruber were taking meetings across town.

After the success of co-writing the feature "Final Destination 2," Bress and Gruber were given the opportunity to co-direct "The Butterfly Effect," which had been their first screenplay collaboration. For the next year, Bress segued to television, nurturing his creation "KYLE XY," on which he served as executive producer for the first season before returning to feature work. Bress has written the screenplay for the upcoming fantasy "The Alchemyst: Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel," based on the bestselling Michael Scott novel, for pioneering television producer Mark Burnett.

A 1992 graduate of Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Communication, Bress was born and raised in New York. He began his entertainment career as a script reader for Creative Artists Agency and a boom mic operator/sound recordist in independent films. He resides in Marina del Rey, California.
