Jana Hojdová

Jana Hojdová was born in Prague in 1989, she grew up in a family of filmmakers – she is the daughter of the cinematographer Petr Hojda and the film and TV director Zuzana Zemanová. She has been surrounded by film all her life and never planned to do anything else. She was interested in photography but wanted to become a cinematographer. She began studying cinematography in Písek and then gained work experience at various assistant positions. She enrolled at the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague when she was 23 with plenty of experience. She has just finished her third year. Apart from traditional collaborations with various directors, she made a number films herself, only with an editor.
