angol This is once again more for kids than previous projects, but it's still nice that the Addams Family is still going. The script of the animated second film is more or less like the 1973 Hanna-Barbera series, with the family traveling around the United States and having a great time. Moreover, the dubbing loses the charm of the original cast (Bette Midler as Granny is perfect, while Snoop Dogg as Cousin It is terrible). But they did a good job reaching the finish line, and we can keep up with the family in the Wednesday series coming to Netflix this year. ()

angol The second adventure of "America's most morbid family" falls short of its predecessor, and that's quite a shame, because the Addams offer great material for a slightly unconventional family film that doesn't skimp on the dark humour. As with the first film, it's all about family problems and finding one's identity, which is a rewarding but at the same time bland subject. At first, the film still tried to maintain its typically gloomy atmosphere, but then it started to take off into overly colourful shades (which was a bit of a problem with the first film as well), and you knew almost the whole time how it was going to end. I appreciated a few pop culture allusions (Jaws, Carrie, and The Island of Dr. Moreau), but I have to conclude that in this case, the potential of the brand was woefully underexploited. Better two stars! ()
