Tea, coffee, and chocolate—items nowadays common in our diet have a complicated history. They played a major role in the political, economic, and geographical development of the world. Now freely available commodities that appear on our dining tables were a privilege of European aristocracy and the motivation of colonialism, espionage, and war centuries ago. Archival materials and new footage illustrate experts’ explanation of the role which coffee, tea, and chocolate has played in world history and globalization and how the current way of preparation differs from the historical one.
