When the young Caroline discovers that her father, or Daddy as she calls him because of his English nationality, is about to die, she rushes to his bedside. Although they have never been particularly close, the circumstances revive their affection and create a complicity that strengthens the father-daughter relationship, while increasingly pushing her mother, Miche, to one side.
