Nuclear energy may guarantee the independence of France's energy supply, but the security issue has been the subject of heated social discussions until today. So when the French nuclear plants were under construction in 1975, people proceeded with great caution. The power stations were established in the name of American commercial companies or disguised as Belgian enterprises. This attracted the attention of the Comit‚ contre le nucleaire the Mont‚limar and was the direct reason for this film. Mets pas tes doigts... is a satirical and critical documentary about the damaging consequences of nuclear energy. Does the end of petrochemical industry herald a future in which countries will export uranium? What is it exactly that we are so worried about? When we will have destroyed nature, we can always stay home and watch TV. That is, if our genetically mutated hands will stay be able to hold the remote control... In the context of the recently performed French nuclear tests on Mururoa this film from 1975 seems to be as topical as ever. (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam)
