Brynjar

The film about Brynjar is almost as much a portrait of Iceland as by the designer himself, it was simply impossible to distinguish the two. Although Brynjar has not lived in Iceland for nine years, we find references from there in almost all his creations. His crochet techniques, he has learned from fishermen on the island and together with Brynjar, my photographer and I visited fishing villages along the southern coast of Iceland for a closer look at this. Exploring how places affect people and their expressions is a strong driving force in my creation. And in a place like Iceland, where the human being always relies on nature. Perhaps it is that our origin environments become even more important to us when we are no longer just in place? (Tempo Documentary Festival)
