O Pátio das Cantigas

In a neighborhood in Lisbon, the lives of people living side by side are linked by home and friendship. There is the fireman who dreams of the theater and – most of all – his beautiful neighbor, there is Evaristo, the deli owner, who is in love with charming Rosa, there is his self-indulgent daughter and their Indian neighbor. A series of loosely associated events lead lightheartedly toward the great finale, the neighborhood festival. This light summer comedy is a remake of its namesake, the Portuguese classic from 1942 by Francisca Ribeira. (Days of European Film)
