angol Season 1 – 75% – My name is Liz Parker and I died five days ago. A romantic start, a melancholic mood – and a lot of unbearable fluff that almost put me off completely. But after a few episodes, something happens in the woods, families go camping, relationships get entangled, and from then on, Roswell rises unimaginably higher, to the point where I sometimes forgot to breathe. And in one moment, I realized how deeply I am into Max, the rebel Michael, or the beautiful Liz. I'll repeat it for everyone who gets discouraged by the tired start – the start is awkward, but the outcomes are perfect, addiction guaranteed. Season 2 – 80% – The basic storyline sticks to the concept that worked so well in the previous season finale. Relationships are still in the foreground, accompanied by solving new mysteries and deepening the forgotten past of the alien heroes. This more mature approach works perfectly in the first half and is only disrupted by the unsuccessful multi-episode subplot with Michael's relatives. That said, Roswell has proven multiple times that it can change the long-term mood from episode to episode, and luckily it succeeded even at this critical moment. From the prom to the very end, it presents a romantic drama, surprisingly dark psychology, and last but not least, a tragic tone. And the final scene promises a magnificent finish. Season 3 – 80% – The same thing the third time around, but differently. There is still the fear of revelation, the same foundation of relationship effort, and Michael's unwavering rebellion, but a few things have changed. First, right from the beginning, Isabel becomes the leading character. On one hand, Katherine Heigl gets another opportunity to show that she is a great actress, but on the other hand, she suffers from the storyline promised by the previous season finale. Having been given a few script gems and genre treats (the episode with a sitcom twist clearly stands out), it doesn't bother me. But just like everything must one day come to an end, Roswell ends too, and it manages to end at its best. I don't deny that with a few minor adjustments, the amazing two-part finale could be fitted onto almost any episode, but just like I forgave earlier missteps, I will forgive this one too and enjoy the fantastic finish over and over again. Roswell had its faults, but it's impossible not to love these earnest and determined characters. And the fact that each member of the main ensemble (although some were more of supporting characters in this season) has a solid role at the very end, still moves me to this day, proving that Liz and the gang will stay with me.
