Egy hollywoodi filmstúdióba meghívnak három sikeres filmkészítőt, egy színésznőt, egy írót és egy rendezőt, hogy meghallgassanak egy filmötletet Jonathan Shieldstől, egy munka nélkül maradt producertől, akinek történetesen mindhárman a karrierjüket köszönhetik, és akit idővel mindhármuknak sikerült meggyűlölnie.
