With the invasion of city life and the emigration of local villagers, about 900,000 natural villages have disappeared in China over the past 10 years. The film is about the people of Nangang village, located 800 meters above sea level in Guangdong province. It is the world’s largest, oldest and most traditional village of the Yao ethnic minority. In the autumn of 2013, two elderly people live alone in Nangang. Their two daughters have married and live far away, so they can only depend on each other for survival. The Qixi festival arrives, a Chinese version of romantic Valentine’s Day, and the elderly couple celebrate by dancing, singing and playing traditional drums. (Warsaw Film Festival)
